Understanding Your University Fees: A Complete Breakdown

When preparing for college, it’s essential to understand the various charges you may encounter. At Oklahoma State University, undergraduate students taking 12 or more credit hours fall under the block rate, encompassing tuition and university-wide fees. However, exceptions exist, and specific course fees may apply in some instances. Tuition rates for the 2023-24 academic year will be available in June 2023. It’s important to note that regardless of the method of instruction, tuition and mandatory fees remain unchanged, and no refunds will be issued for remote instruction during the academic year.

The Block Rate (12 to 18 hours)

This allows full-time undergraduates flexibility to take up to 18 credit hours at a set semester rate, covering tuition and university-wide fees. Conversely, undergraduates taking fewer than 12 credit hours and graduate students are charged tuition and university-wide fees on a per credit hour basis.

Tuition is a standard enrollment requirement at OSU and varies depending on residency and course level. Courses numbered 0 to 4 are billed at the undergraduate rate, while those numbered 5 and above are assessed at the graduate rate.

Tuition for Online Programs

Graduate students enrolled in 100% online degree programs and not taking on-campus courses are subject to a per-hour tuition cost based on residency. Notably, additional university-wide, college-based, and status-based fees are excluded from the online program tuition rate, although individual course fees may still apply.
