Tarleton State Homecoming Festivities Kick off Sunday

STEPHENVILLE — Custom takes middle stage as Tarleton State College welcomes returning alumni for Homecoming 2023. Actions are scheduled every night time subsequent week, starting with Sunday’s Memorial Homecoming 5K Run and Lighting of the Smokestack and culminating Saturday, Oct. 21, within the Texans’ soccer matchup with Morehead State.

The Silver Bugle Hunt, a university-wide scavenger hunt with greater than 70 years of historical past behind it, is Monday; Launching of the Geese and Purple Pancakes are Tuesday; Wednesday options the Yell Contest, Snake Dance and Beating of the Drum. The Purple Out Picnic and live performance are on the menu for Thursday.

The weekend kicks off Friday with a full slate, capped by the L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire. The Homecoming parade and tailgate social gathering happen Saturday earlier than the sport.

Tarleton State outreach campuses will get in on the enjoyable, too. Fort Value will serve up Purple Pancakes and have a Purple Out Picnic. Waco plans a Homecoming Hoedown, and each websites will roll out their model of Launching of the Geese and the A&M RELLIS campus will launch for the primary time.
