St. John’s University Celebrates Class of 2023 at 153rd Commencement

St. John’s University recently honored and celebrated the Class of 2023 at its 153rd commencement ceremony. In a jubilant event held at the Queens campus, over 2,300 undergraduate degrees were conferred to students from various campuses, as well as online learners. The diverse group of graduates, ranging in age from 19 to 63, reflected the university’s commitment to providing education and opportunities to a wide array of individuals.

The commencement ceremony had the distinguished presence of His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Ph.D. ’10HON, Archbishop of New York, who delivered a heartfelt address to the graduating class. He emphasized the importance of traditions of learning and praised the graduates for their dedication to education.

During the ceremony, Cardinal Dolan was honored with the University’s Gold Medal for his significant contributions to society. Additionally, several distinguished individuals, including Sr. Regina Bechtle, S.C., Pascal Desroches ’86CBA, and Maurice “Hank” Greenberg, were also acknowledged for their outstanding achievements and received honorary degrees.
